Faliraki Resort is located on the beautiful east coast of the island not far south of Rhodes Town. In ancient times the area was part of the city-state of Ialysos. The sheltered bay of Faliraki was an important naval facility in those times. Evidence of this ancient state can be seen today when you visit ancient sites such as Erimokastro, Sarantapihos and Acropolis. The many Byzantine and post Byzantine churches in the area, decorated with beautiful frescos, are also worth visiting.

Climate

Due to the Mediterranean climate summer here lasts for five months from May to September and it is dry and cool. Low Humidity, North-west winds and a thirty degrees temperature describe the island's summer which attracts many visitors.
In winter the weather is quite rainy with a frequency of 85 percent rain and humidity. The temperature rarely drops to eight degrees Celsius.
